The rising burden of cancer in low- and middle-Human Development Index countries

Abstract

Cancer and other noncommunicable diseases represent a growing burden to the health of many countries with a low or medium Human Development Index. Although they are well aware of this problem, many have limited resources to address the continuing burden of communicable diseases while having to address cancer as well.
